This week’s “On the Media” is a collection of the show’s commentary on how the Internet is changing the ways we communicate. Which, you might think, would result in a recap made from a collection of our commentary on how Bob Garfield doesn’t get it, and how Brooke Gladstone does. That wouldn’t be wrong, if [...]
This week’s episode intro starts with the usual story highlights and ends with Bob saying “Stay tuned for all sorts of wrong stuff.” There’s potential for plenty of wrong – Brooke is off again this week, and Bob is using words like “fomenting”. The first story is about people that think that President Obama wasn’t [...]
A year ago Saturday was the last broadcast of The Bryant Park Project. It was a day that we met with sadness, grief, and no small bit of anger – we’ve since edited out the most egregious parts. And on July 14, we saw the first anniversary of the words: Maybe you heard the news; [...]
It’s recap time again, and this week, it’s a video. Watch for talk about behaviorally targeted ads, skecthy food products, sketchy print ad products (and some paper nomming), and Bob apologizing. This recap was recorded by Kerry, with occasional giggles from Matthew, who’s watching YouTube videos in the next room.
Happy Independence day, media fans. I hope you all had a good time barbecuing, swimming, being off work and blowing things up. We had an excellent weekend full of all of those things. Sadly, the party’s over now, and it’s back to work. Recap time! This week, Brooke and Bob pull an Adam and Jamie [...]
This week’s OTM was all about public relations. And the ShamWow guy. Bob hosted the episode solo, without a single mention of the newspaper industry. Here’s the video: OTM Recap: Memorial Day Weekend from Radio Sweethearts on Vimeo. This recap was recorded by Kerry with help from the dog and viewers like you.
OTM Recap: Out of my brain on the 5:15 from Radio Sweethearts on Vimeo. In this post I mention the story about Wolfram Alpha. Here’s that link. It’s not too often I’ll be doing this, as my current computer is way slower than Kerry’s, and lacks a built-in camera. Have a good week.
If so, Bob asks that you please let him out. On The Media Recap – May 8th from Radio Sweethearts on Vimeo. Listen to this week’s episode.
I need to apologize to Brooke Gladstone for just one moment. It’s a little more than a week late, but if you’ll excuse me: Brooke, I’m sorry about that gushy voicemail I sent. Sort of. The sentiment behind it was sincere, if strong enough to be a little embarassing. Anyway, Kerry and I are both [...]

Okay, so swine flu can kill people and it can be transmitted from human to human. I’m not seeing how that’s any different from any other flu, except that this is somewhat unseasonable.
