Hi! I happened to see your blog post on my Google alert I have for SXSW. I live in Austin and work with SXSW during the fest. I have not heard anything about the All Songs Considered party yet, but I would suggest http://www.agglom.com/set/79824/SXSW_2010_RSVPs_and_Free_Parties as a great location for party information as well as Facebook this year. If you’d like some more info, shoot me an email and I can share some SX insight with you. It’s truly the best spring break a nerd could ever ask for.

I think women have a tough time accepting help from men too. There’s this feminist expectation that strong, independent women have their own money. One catch: demanding fields that pay little. I’ve had to learn (slowly and sometimes painfully) that it’s okay for my husband to make more money, to hand me cash, and help pay more of the bills. I constantly remind myself that I’m working as hard as I can, just not in an industry that pays well. Money and gender are like oil and water, no matter who has more income.

Smart decision. Blogs are all about those, “Look what I found! Isn’t it amazing, revolting, worthy of further inspection?” moments. I like that you two can be critical in a way that Public Radio Redux can’t (burning bridges and all that). If folks are looking for lighter “neat, beautiful, compelling story” posts, come on over to PRR. We’ll be back up and running in about a month. In the mean time, enjoy the hard-hitting analysis from Radio Sweethearts. I know I will.
