To recap: in the last post, I was frustrated because I thought that the live chat with Andrew Bird had already passed. Andy Carvin came to the rescue and corrected me, and I was able to watch / listen to the chat today.
NPR has posted the interview and a replay of the chat over on NPR Music.
There seemed to be plenty of people participating. Every time I would scroll up to try to catch responses that I missed, I would get interrupted by new comments. It was a little overwhelming. Even Andy Carvin (I’m not sure why I always feel compelled to say his full name) seemed to think so. Here’s a post from his Twitter during the chat:

I was glad to see so many people turn out. It gives me hope for some of the things I’m about to be working on at the Grown Up Job. Did any of you participate? What suggestions do you have for future chats? Personally, I would have liked to see Mr. Bird be a more involved in the chat portion, not just on the audio. A lot of really great questions were asked via the chat, but not all of them made it to the interview. Also, it would be cool to have chats with other public figures – lawmakers, soldiers, foreign correspondents, actors, etc.
One more thing – Andy mentioned that he would be getting an RSS feed together to notify people of upcoming live chats, so be on the look out if you’d like to participate in the next one.
