Today, like entirely too many days lately has been one of bad news. Companies are cutting holiday parties, people are underemployed, and our greenhouse gas emissions are up.
Are y’all sick of this, too?
I like facts and realism and all, but damn and I ready for a light at the end of this tunnel. Really, if we don’t start thinking about good things, who knows how long all of the bad can go on.
Here are some other things to think about:
- It’s almost time to be thinking about your Top Five Best Records of 2008 list. “All Songs Considered” got started a little early, and for once, I agree with them.
- I’m sure most of you have already seen this, but Cartoon Network Rick Rolled the Macy’s Parade, and it’s one of the only funny Rickrolls since this whole thing started.
Actually – I give up. I just spent half an hour combing npr.org for some good news that didn’t involve Rickrolling, and there’s just not any. People are stealing things, good people are in bad situations, the economy is a mess, and sadly, there’s little excitement to be found.
Other than spending time every day being thankful for what I’ve got, I’m not sure what I can do to get over the worry and the insecurity.
Any ideas? For once, the radio isn’t helping.
