One of the great joys of Monday mornings is listening to the new “This American Life” podcast. It tends to go well with my morning work routine. Today, though, I just couldn’t do it. Meaning, I listened to it, but tried not to listen too carefully.
This week, TAL brought back Alex Blumberg and Adam Davidson for a second show about the current economic crisis called “Another Frightening Show About the Economy”.
They weren’t kidding.

The moment that struck me most was when one of the reporters (and I’m sorry, I can’t find which one it is) said that the more time he spent reporting on the financial crisis, the more scared he got. Funny, the more I listen to news about it, the more freaked out I get.
I’ve been avoiding “The Takeaway” and “Planet Money” and only skimming the front page of the NYT. I try to ignore the giant plasma TV showing CNN all day every day at work. It’s not that I’m trying to ignore it - a girl can only stand so much turmoil. I guess I’m just going to sit tight, save up, and hope that things resolve soon. Isn’t that the best we all can do?
