Ouch.

Something that needs to be said:

I feel that if this blog has proven anything, it’s that Kerry and I are deeply in love with this particular form of media. To realize that NPR’s communications department might think we don’t like them is somewhat painful.

If such is the cost of caring as we care, so be it.

If that means they’ve heard our displeasure, I’m satisfied - or will be, so long as I know they’ve heard our love as well.

NPR, like Apple, like Lego, is a brand that I’ve come to expect the best from. My love is pretty much undying.

But because I’ve come to expect the best, when I’m let down, it hurts. I won’t be quiet about it, either, because that’s the way fanboy love works. If you’re not happy, you’re screaming.

And how do I know it’s fanboy love? Because I am on record calling “Talk of the Nation” a “lovefest.”

The most sincere promoters make the loudest detractors. Sorry for the sincerity.
