Blurred lines, or: Why I love Twitter

My ex-girlfriend bought me the sixth season of “The West Wing” for my birthday last year. I finally got around to sitting down to it.* It’s the season in which they introduce Matt Santos, the character who will, by the end of the season, I’m sure, become the Democratic presidential candidate.

You better believe there’s more (and a great picture) after this jump:

The idealism, eloquence, and minority status of Santos struck me as a particularly realistic detail. Read: Dude is totally Obama.

Separated at Birth! No question!

I found out through the NPR News Blog’s Twitter feed that hey, guess what? I’m so freaking right!

There’s an article in the British paper, the Telegraph (which is where we stole that picture) about a “West Wing” writer who completely cops to the association.

Not going to lie - this gets me even more excited to dig back into those poorly-manufactured discs.

Even cooler is a followup comment by the NPR News Blog: “It gets even better - if you remember, the GOP fight in the show was between a Christian preacher and a maverick senator from the west.”
